- Roystonea regia
- Native to South Florida and Cuba, the Royal Palm has a striped grey smooth trunk that is about 2 feet in diameter. Past the trunk is a visibly green crownshaft which leads to pinnate fronds. Keep in mind, this beautiful specimen has a low tolerance for salt, inland planting is recommended.
- Hundreds of tiny cream-colored flowers are followed in late summer by dark red to black fruits.
