- Native to rainforests of Central America, this species is often referred to as the Split-Leaf Philodendron or the Swiss Cheese plant. In their natural ecosystem, they can grow up to 70 ft tall as epiphytes. Referring to the species name, the blooms give way to an edible fruit that is reminiscent of pineapples and bananas.
