Codiaeum variegatum 'Congo'
This bold croton produces broad, richly colored leaves blending green, yellow, orange, and red, creating a dramatic, jungle-like statement wherever it's planted.
🌿 Perennial in South Florida
🌍 Native Origin: A cultivar derived from Codiaeum species native to Malaysia and Southeast Asia
☀️ Light: Full sun to part shade; brighter light brings out the most vivid color
💧 Water: Regular, moderate water; avoid letting it dry out completely
📏 Size: Upright shrub reaching 4 to 6 feet, easily kept smaller with pruning
🌸 Bloom Time: Flowers are inconspicuous; grown entirely for its colorful foliage
🌱 Landscape Use: A dramatic accent for hedges, tropical borders, and container displays
🐾 Pet & Child Safety: Toxic; the sap is irritating to skin and eyes and harmful if ingested. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
